P1

Animated GIF of a shape transforming from an ellipse, to a triangle, to a square.

A: Form

The primary target audience of this animation is children; its cute character designs and whimsical plotline is something that a young demographic will find appealing.

B: Animation type

The animation is a combination of two different forms/styles of stop-motion; the non-human character will be created using a clay model, whereas the human character will be designed using a paper cutout.

C: Genre

The characters and setting of this animation place it in the fantasy genre, whereas its narrative also makes it a comedy.

D: Narrative/character development

This animation contains a character and plot-driven storyline, following a highly intelligent infant dragon having to put up with the insane antics of an incompetent sorcerer. Their characters are established in this short animation, as well as a rather humorous narrative in which a shape-shifting potion and a can of coke play a crucial role.

E: Risk Assessment

As the animation is digitally created, it is important to save multiple copies of its file(s) in different areas; there is a risk of the animation being lost if the computer crashes. If hand-animation is used, the drawings must not be tampered with and kept together in a safe place (such as a binder).

When creating rotoscope animation, multiple files of the original live-action footage must also be saved and evaluated to find the best take to animate.

Stop motion animation requires physical character models to be created, as well as a set. Both must be kept in an isolated area lest they be damaged in any way. Unlike digital/2D/rotoscope animation, the only part of stop motion that involves computers is when it is edited.
